The CloudBox 4.0 is the successor to the well-known CloudBox 3.0

The CloudBox 4.0 acts as a gateway, establishing the connection between the internet and the wireless sensors and actuators in your home. The CloudBox 4.0 features several ports for this purpose. The USB-C port is used to power the CloudBox via the USB power adapter. The USB-A port allows for future expansion to support additional wireless protocols. The CloudBox connects to your router via Wi-Fi. Alternatively, you can connect the CloudBox using a network cable. When you purchase a CloudBox, your customer account grants you free access to the everHome service for the duration of the CloudBox's use. It is not necessary for a PC, iPhone, iPad, smartphone, or tablet to be on your home network. The customer account also allows you to use multiple CloudBoxes to extend the wireless range in larger buildings or to control a second residence. To do this, each sensor/actuator is assigned to one of the CloudBoxes in the portal.
